Text Mate 2 goes to opensource
I daily check the Github repo Explore because I want to know trend on programming technology. I saw TextMate 2 on Github Explore. I couldn’t believe it. So, I checked on http://blog.macromates.com/ . Yes, it’s true. Textmate 2 is on github.
I checked the repo and it already put how to build. I am using brew and I can build easily.
Preparing
1. Install Xcode and command line tool
Open the xcode.
Xcode Menu > Preference > Downloads > Command Line Tools > Install
1. Clone the repo
You need git for clone the repo
2. Install hg
You can install hg from http://mercurial.berkwood.com/
3. Install Home Brew
You can check on http://mxcl.github.com/homebrew/
Time to build Text Mate
In terminal
For OS X 10.7 (Lion)
After finishing the install,
Build Target
If you want to build all
If you want to build only TextMate.app
You can get build file at ~/build/TextMate/Application/
I build for Mountain Lion OSX . You can download http://minus.com/lbuNgI8uUsySwj
However, you need to enable System Preference > Security & Privacy > Allow > Anywhere
